What is the duration of a Fellowship?

A Choza Fellowship can be anywhere between 1 – 12 months and negotiable thereafter.

Is there a stipend for Fellows?

There is no set stipend for Fellows. The application asks prospective fellows to include their desired monthly stipend (if necessary) and any project specific costs they would require (again, if necessary). For prospective fellows that would like to be a Fellow in Residence in Costa Rica, the cost of food and consumables (gas for the kitchen, soap, etc.) is approximately $8 per person per day, or $240/month. In the case of financial need, the Choza Members will do their best to find resources to support the Fellows, both in their food cost and any project specific costs. Financial support cannot be guaranteed and the applicant should be proactive in seeking other sources of funds, particularly if large project funds are required. In some cases, Fellow’s projects are less known and may pivot over the fellowship. Existing Fellows may at any time propose to the Choza Members for new projects and/or project augmentation which may require additional funding. The Choza Members will assist you in additional fundraising, if necessary.

I have some ideas on the Fellowship program. Whom should I contact?

The program is flexible and we love new ideas so contact us at fellowship@chozadelmundo.com with any questions and feel free to send us more information than in the application form.
